Risk Management Overview
Members receive many valuable benefits from SDAR's Risk Management Department. The Real Estate Mediation Center provides efficient and cost-effective resolutions to real estate disputes. The department's Risk Management programs help you protect yourself with transaction forms, seminars, and classes. Risk Management also works to maintain the real estate industry's high ethical and professional standards.

Professional Standards
The Code of Ethics distinguishes REALTORS® from other real estate professionals. All REALTORS® are required to take an Ethics Class every four years to help the standard that they are required to practice.
Procuring Cause
The Procuring Cause Guidelines C.A.R. and SDAR adopted in the late fall of 2001 address how to determine which of the brokers involved in a transaction is responsible for its successful completion, and therefore entitled to the commission.
